E483 Stearyl tartrate — is it halal?

Description

A flour treatment agent: esters of tartaric acid and commercial stearyl alcohol (stearyl and cetyl). Removed in the EU from 23.04.2024 (Regulation 2023/2379): EFSA could not confirm its safety. Allowed in the EAEU (bakery, desserts); not found in China or in the US 21 CFR, no Codex provisions.
