Description

Allura Red AC is a synthetic monoazo dye: 5-amino-4-methoxy-2-toluenesulphonic acid → diazotisation (HCl, NaNO2) → coupling with Schaeffer's salt → NaCl salting-out, drying (decolorising carbon in patents). The sources name no animal raw material in the synthesis.
