الْحَلَالُ بَيِّنٌ وَالْحَرَامُ بَيِّنٌ، وَبَيْنَهُمَا مُشَبَّهَاتٌ لَا يَعْلَمُهَا كَثِيرٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ، فَمَنِ اتَّقَى الْمُشَبَّهَاتِ اسْتَبْرَأَ لِدِينِهِ وَعِرْضِهِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The lawful is clear and the unlawful is clear, and between them are doubtful matters that many people do not know. Whoever guards against the doubtful matters protects his religion and his honor.”

Description

Duck and goose — meat, fat and liver of waterfowl, including liver for foie gras. Under 853/2004 ducks and geese reared for foie gras may be stunned, bled and plucked on the fattening farm, with the authorisation of the competent authority.

Duck and goose are the meat, fat and liver of waterfowl, including liver for foie gras. The bird itself is permissible as food when slaughtered according to the Shariah. Industrial poultry slaughter is carried out by non-Muslims, and the birds are cut by a machine knife on the line; machine slaughter is not Shariah…
