Reproaching the recipient with the favour after giving zakat

Question

I gave twenty rupees out of the obligatory (fard) zakat to a widow, but once, in anger, these words escaped me: “She has eaten zakat and [now] she argues back!” Will the zakat become void because of these words or not? As in the words of the juz’ “Tilka al-Rusul”: [ar]يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تُبْطِلُوا۟ صَدَقَـٰتِكُم بِٱلْمَنِّ وَٱلْأَذَىٰ[/ar] “O you who believe! Do not render your charities void by reproaches and hurt…” (Surah al-Baqara, 2:264).

Answer

It is not necessary to pay this zakat again, because the obligation (farida) has been discharged; however, the good pleasure of Allah will not follow from it. For that, it is necessary to ask forgiveness and to make her pleased.
