Doubt whether a gift is from zakat

Question

The one receiving a gift had a doubt that it might perhaps be from zakat money. What is the ruling on gifts in this case?

Answer

If it is known from someone’s habit or other indications that he gives this gift out of zakat, it should be investigated; otherwise there is no need.
