Question

When and at what rate should zakat be taken out of produce?

Answer

From the produce of ‘ushri land a tenth is taken out when the land is rain-fed; if it has to be irrigated, half-tithe is wajib. Completion of the year (hawl) is not a condition (“Shami”).
