Giving books bought with zakat to an owner of the nisab

Question

An owner of the nisab bought books with his zakat money and gave them as a gift (hiba) to another scholar who is [also] an owner of the nisab. Is it correct for the scholar who is an owner of the nisab to accept such books? And in such a case, will the zakat of the zakat-payer (muzakki) be discharged?

Answer

The recipient of zakat is one who is not an owner of the nisab; therefore, in the case asked about, zakat was not discharged.
