Appointing a deputy to pay zakat

Question

If the parents were told, “You pay the zakat,” and then the parents do not pay it, does the sin of this fall on the son as well, or only on the parents?

Answer

If it is known about the parents that they will not pay the zakat, he should not make them responsible for paying the zakat, but should entrust it to some friend and inform the parents that they are to give such-and-such a person so much money, or send (the money) directly to the friend so that he pays the zakat.
