Zakat on gold and silver is to be paid separately
Question
For one who possesses fifty-two and a half (52½) tolas (a unit of weight, ≈ 11.66 g) of silver or seven and a half tolas of gold, the fitra (sadaqat al-fitr), zakat, sacrifice and Hajj are binding and necessary. But it is not clear whether the zakat on the fifty-two and a half tolas of silver and on the seven and a half tolas of gold is to be paid separately, or in what way it is to be taken out. And how is zakat to be paid on trade goods?
Answer
For the fitra, sacrifice and zakat this much nisab is sufficient, but for Hajj it is not sufficient; rather, one must possess the amount for the entire Hajj journey together with the obligatory maintenance (nafaqa wajiba).
