An Agent Has No Right to Change the Donor’s Intention
Question
A man’s brother sent money for the madrasa. Now that man, his brother, says that the madrasa’s administrators do not use it properly; therefore, what is the ruling if he buys with this money some item that the madrasa needs and gives it to the madrasa?
Answer
If there is permission from the one who sent the money for the madrasa — either to give the money, or to buy some item the madrasa needs and give it — then he has the right not to give the money but to buy some item at his own discretion and give it. If there is no permission, then it is the money itself that should be given.
