Spending Madrasa Money on One’s Own Needs as a Loan
Question
Is it permissible to spend six hundred and seven rupees of the madrasa’s money on one’s own needs in advance? If he cannot repay it when it is needed for the madrasa’s work, it may be deducted from each month’s salary.
Answer
It is not permissible for the person with whom the madrasa’s money is kept in trust (amana) to spend that money on his own needs. This is breach of trust (khiyana), which according to the hadith is a sign of the hypocrite (munafiq).
