Staying in the Mosque and Related Matters

Question

What is the ruling on drying clothes, paddy (unhusked rice) and the like in the mosque, and on using it at night for rest and thereby making it and the prayer mats impure with urine? What is the Sharʿi ruling?

Answer

For drying paddy and the like there is the madrasa itself; this work should not be done in the mosque. Do not let such children lie down or sit who, by urinating, make the mosque and the prayer mat impure; an arrangement should be made for them outside the mosque.
