Hanging Calendars and Book Advertisements in the Mosque

Question

Question: What is the ruling on putting up in the mosque a calendar, an advertisement for the sale of books, or posters for a madrasa’s gathering?

Answer

Do not do this. Even engravings and decorations on the qibla wall have been declared makruh in Radd al-Muhtar.
