Expanding a Mosque and Building Shops for a Madrasa from Joint Donations
Question
A plot adjoining the mosque was purchased with joint money, collected as donations for the construction of a new madrasa; as needed, the mosque was enlarged and four shops were built. From the rental income of the shops, the cost has been recovered and almost entirely deposited in the mosque's account.
Answer
Since the donations for building the madrasa and expanding the mosque were collected jointly, land was purchased with that joint sum, the mosque was enlarged as needed, and shops were built on one side, then whatever was added to the mosque — that land became specifically the mosque's; indeed, it became a mosque.
