Spending the Mixed Money of Hindus and Muslims on Building a Mosque
Question
For the construction of a mosque we hung a box by the mosque on the public road. Everyone puts money in this box: Muslims, Hindus, Christians and others. May this joint money be used in the construction of the mosque? If, because non-Muslims put money into this box, the money becomes doubtful, where should this money be spent?
Answer
If a box has been hung by the road for the construction of a mosque and passers-by put money into it, then it is correct to use that money in this construction; whether those who put it in are Muslims or non-Muslims, in this case the money of all of them may be used.
