Non-Muslims’ Money for Building a Mosque

Question

We have some money left over from a poetry-gathering fund, and it also includes money from Hindus. The question now is: may this money be used in the construction of the mosque or not?

Answer

With the permission of those who gave the money, it may be used in the mosque as well. However, as for the money of the Hindu gentlemen, it is better that it be returned to them, and that permission to spend it on building the mosque not be sought on one’s own initiative.
