A Madrasa Below and a Mosque Above on the Site of a Mosque
Question
A plot for a mosque was obtained from a landowning cultivator, and, after obtaining approval for building a mosque from the Town Area Committee of Zaidpur, the foundation was laid together with the front annex (?). The mosque’s foundations rose higher than a man’s height, and the filling of earth and its ramming were also done.
Answer
Since that plot was taken from the landowning cultivator for the mosque, and the foundation of the mosque was laid at that place after obtaining approval from the Town Area Committee for building a mosque, it is not permissible to build a madrasa at that place. It is not permissible to use the bricks and so on from the mosque’s donations in building the madrasa.
