Building a Mosque Dome over a Urinal and Toilet
Question
A dome is to be built in our mosque. Directly beneath the part where this dome is to be built there is a urinal and toilet. Is it permissible for us to build a dome over it or not?
Answer
The part of the mosque that has been designated for prayer is entirely mosque, above and below; building a urinal, toilet, or the like in the part beneath it is not permissible. If there is a need, a dome may be built on the roof of the mosque. If there is a urinal beneath it, it is necessary to remove it from there.
