Building a Toilet Attached to a Mosque
Question
Near the floor of the congregational (jamiʿ) mosque a latrine has been left open — or a tank in which filthy excrement keeps collecting for a long time, as is the case with English-style latrines. Where did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ permit such latrines near a mosque or near the floor of a mosque where shoes are taken off? And is it permissible to build a toilet within the enclosure of an Arabic madrasa as well, or not?
Answer
In the blessed time of the Prophet ﷺ there was no arrangement in the mosque for anything — no drain, no ewer for ablution, no tank, no well, no tap, no water, no bathing room, no windows, no fans, no electricity and so on.
