Building a Place of Purification within the Mosque Enclosure Is Permissible

Question

The Jami‘ mosque of Shaykhpura, Purtagalpura, from which the distance to where water can be obtained is up to one kilometre: for the convenience of the public, an ablution room has been set up inside the noble mosque. The tube well is outside the mosque; the ablution room has been set up right next to the door of the mosque. So the question is: is an ablution room inside this mosque permissible or not?

Answer

A place that has once been made a mosque according to the Shari‘a and dedicated to congregational prayer has become a mosque for ever; after that it is not permissible to set apart and assign any part of it for another purpose. For example, making an ablution room or a bathroom there such that prayer cannot be offered there is not right.
