A Latrine Adjoining the Mosque

Question

Behind the mosque, on the western side, adjoining the wall, is the place where the imam stands; in between there is a wall. Is it permissible to build a latrine or not?.. In such a case, may there also be a ventilator in the wall or not? (In the print there is a diagram: on the west, the latrine; next to it the place of the imam and the mosque; the cardinal directions are marked.)

Answer

Building a latrine outside the mosque is permissible, and because of the wall in between there will be no defect in the prayer either. However, building a latrine in a place from which the worshippers suffer from the stench and the mosque constantly smells bad, and opening the latrine’s ventilator towards the mosque, is contrary to the sanctity of the mosque.
