A Mosque Built for a Temporary Need Does Not Have the Ruling of a Mosque in the Sharʿi Sense
Question
Question: In a village of Darbhanga, the village of Khatila, the old mosque has become dilapidated, so the villagers have decided to demolish it and build it anew. Until then, a mosque has been built temporarily outside the mosque compound for performing the prayer, and it will be demolished once the permanent mosque is ready. The question now is: may this makeshift (mud)
Answer
If an arrangement has merely been made there for prayer temporarily until the mosque is ready, and it has not been endowed as waqf and made a mosque, then it has not become a mosque in the Sharʿi sense, and it does not have the ruling that a mosque in the Sharʿi sense has.
