Money Zayd Gave for a Particular Purpose Should Be Spent on That Very Purpose

Question

Question: Zayd gave money for whitewashing the mosque, or specified some other task by name. Should this money be spent only on the task specified by the one who gave the money, or may it be spent on other expenses of the mosque, for example: oil, ablution jugs, floor coverings, rope, a bucket, or the construction of the mosque, or the electricity bill?

Answer

When the giver has specified the head of expenditure, the money should not be spent on any other purpose.
