The Waqf of the Shrine of Hazrat Pir Muhammad Shah ﵀: the Waqif’s Condition Is Like the Text of the Lawgiver

Question: (1) In Ahmedabad there lived a saintly elder, Hazrat Pir Muhammad Shah ﵀, who was from a family of Sayyids; his disciples were people of the Bohra community (a Muslim trading community of Gujarat) belonging to the Sunna wa-l-Jama‘a and Muslims from other communities. He remained unmarried all his life and therefore died childless. After his death his disciples built a mausoleum and a mosque attached to it.

Answer

The words the questioner has quoted from the documents are not sufficient for considering the real purposes of the waqf. Therefore, as long as the waqf deed itself or a verbatim copy of it is not before us, no definitive answer can be given.
