The meat of a sacrifice is to be divided among all shareholders by weight
Question
Question: A relative said to me: “Make a sacrificial share for us too in your cow.” Accordingly, a day before, he informed them of their having a share, and also asked: “Which parts of the cow shall I send to your place?” He himself was not present; his adult son answered from inside: “We want nothing except meat, and we will keep only two seers (a unit of weight, ≈ 0.93 kg) of meat ourselves and distribute the rest.
Answer
In the case asked about, the sacrifice is valid. The meat should have been divided by weight; after that, each one had the choice to do whatever he wished with his own share. If the meat is divided without weighing and there is a shortfall or an excess, then the excess that goes to another will fall under the ruling of usury (riba)
