A Christian's Objection Regarding Hazrat Husayn's ﵁ Martyrdom

Question

An objecting Christian says: since the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Husayn ﵁ — from [the sacrifice of] Hazrat Isma‘il ﵁ down to the said Imam — was kept by the Lord of the worlds as a trust (amana) and later bestowed upon Hazrat Imam Husayn ﵁, then what fault does the vile Yazid bear? After all, that martyrdom had already been decreed in pre-eternity (azal) specifically for Imam Husayn, and it was bound to occur at someone's hand regardless.

Answer

If someone were to strike this Christian hard in the face with a shoe soaked in filth, would he not become angry? And would he not say anything ill of the one who struck him? [Of course he would] — because [by his own reasoning] it was written in predestination (taqdir) that a shoe would strike his face, and it was bound to reach him through someone's hand regardless.
