Musa's and 'Isa's Wish to Belong to the Prophet's Umma

Question

Is it true that when this umma [the umma of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ] was praised, Hazrat Musa ﵇ wished to be the prophet of this umma? Is it established, or not, that Hazrat Musa ﵇ and Hazrat ‘Isa ﵇ desired or prayed to belong to this umma?

Answer

In “Ma‘alim al-Tanzil” and other [commentaries], a narration is mentioned that contains this wish and prayer.
