Overlapping of ‘iddas (tadakhul)
Question
Question: A man’s wife is a woman divorced with a revocable (raj‘i) talaq. After that he gave a second talaq made conditional (mu‘allaq) on a condition; immediately after the condition was fulfilled, he swore an oath of talaq making a third talaq conditional on a condition. Two to four days after the second talaq the condition was fulfilled. Will the third talaq take effect before the end of the ‘idda of the second talaq or not? Taking back (ruju‘) after the first and the second talaq was done only verbally.
Answer
The third talaq has also taken effect before the end of the ‘idda. Whether the taking back (ruju‘) was done by word or by deed, all of it has one and the same ruling.
