The ruling on giving three talaqs in one sitting
Question
Zayd gave his wife three talaqs in one sitting. About a month and a half has so far passed since he gave the talaq. Can he take his wife back (ruju‘) again? Please send an answer on the basis of the Qur’an and the hadith. Answer from the Ahl-e Hadith side Answer: Allah Most High said: [ar]ٱلطَّلَـٰقُ مَرَّتَانِ ۖ فَإِمْسَاكٌۢ بِمَعْرُوفٍ أَوْ تَسْرِيحٌۢ بِإِحْسَـٰنٍ (إلى أن قال)
Answer
Answer of His Holiness Hazrat Mufti ﵋ If a person gives three talaqs in one sitting to a wife with whom the marriage has been consummated (madkhula), they take effect, and there is no room in this for taking back (raj‘a) or for renewing the nikah (without halala) — whether he gives the talaq in the wife’s presence or in her absence, the ruling for all is the same.
