Talaq pronounced with an altered attribution of kinship
Question
‘Abd al-‘Aziz, in a state of anger, gave his wife talaq in these words: “Budhu’s grandmother, take all three of your talaqs in your hand (?) and go” (بدھو کی نانی تیرا تینوں طلاق اپنی ہاتھی لے کر جا). Budhu is the name of the father of ‘Abd al-‘Aziz’s wife; his real name is ‘Abd al-Khaliq. In such a case, has the marriage of ‘Abd al-‘Aziz’s wife come to an end or not?
Answer
This question has been circulating for about five years, and answers of both kinds have been given to it, but unfortunately the questioner has not been satisfied. May the Absolute Healer (al-Shafi al-Mutlaq) alone grant the cure.
