Urinating in the bathing room
Question
There is a large mosque in which no toilet or urinal has been built. The bathing room is of solid construction, and its drains are connected to the drains. From time to time the Tablighi Jamaat comes, and travellers come too. So if they urinate in these rooms and wash it away with water — is this permissible? Is urinating in this bathing room prohibited by the Shari‘a or not?
Answer
[ar]وَيُكْرَهُ فِي مَحَلِّ التَّوَضُّؤِ لِأَنَّهُ يُورِثُ الْوَسْوَسَةَ[/ar] “And [urinating] in the place where wudu is performed is makruh, because it breeds obsessive misgivings (waswasa)” (Maraqi al-Falah).
