The Ruling on Purifying Things That Do Not Absorb Water
Question
Nowadays plastic shoes and slippers, or ones of polished leather, or Bata ones, are sold in shops. If they become impure with an invisible impurity and are washed three times, or washed once by pouring water over them from above to such an extent that certainty of the removal of the impurity is attained — have they become pure or not? Will the water have to be left to drip off or not? Likewise, will polished wooden sandals become pure by the procedure and method written above?
Answer
Whatever does not absorb water also becomes pure by pouring water over it three times continuously.
