The Ruling on Steel Utensils

Question

Nowadays steel utensils are used — is this permissible or not? If steel becomes impure, can it also be purified or not?

Answer

If steel is a metal, it is not impure, and even if it becomes impure, it becomes pure by being purified. Therefore there is no harm in using utensils made of it — provided they are not like the brass utensils that the Hindus use, so that there is no imitation (tashabbuh).
