Urinating and Spitting in the Direction of the Qibla

Question

What is [the ruling on] urinating and spitting while facing the direction of the Ka‘ba, or in the shade of a mosque?

Answer

One should not spit in the direction of the qibla, and urinating [in that direction] is even more makruh. Avoiding that, [urinating] in the shade of the mosque in such a way that the bad smell does not reach the mosque — there is latitude [for this].
