An Animal Slaughtered by a Person Whose Islam Is Not Known
Question
If some man is slaughtering a goat belonging to a Muslim, and that Muslim sees him, but it is not known whether the slaughterer was a Muslim or not, or belonged to some other religion, and he ran away immediately after slaughtering — is it permissible for that Muslim to eat what this man slaughtered or not?
Answer
If the heart testifies that he was a Muslim and slaughtered in accordance with the Shari‘a, then it is permissible to eat it. (Non-Muslims generally do not perform slaughter.)
