An Animal Slaughtered by a Butcher Addicted to Intoxicants

Question

If an ignorant butcher who is addicted to intoxicants slaughters livestock, and a buyer, unaware, buys the meat, will that slaughtered animal be valid or not?

Answer

Addiction to intoxicants is a sin. However, if he slaughtered in accordance with the Shari‘a while in full possession of his senses and reason, then that animal is halal, and it is permissible to take and eat its meat.
