A mu'takif attending a funeral or visiting the sick

Question

If there is a need, is it permissible for a mu'takif to go out to attend a funeral and to visit a sick person, or not? If a fire breaks out, is it permissible for him to put it out when there is also a fear that his own house will burn, or not?

Answer

If, while in i'tikaf, he goes out of the mosque to attend a funeral or to visit a sick person, the i'tikaf will not remain.
