The mu'takif leaving the mosque for wudu and adhan
Question
(1) May the mu'takif go outside the limit of the mosque to give the adhan, or not? (2) And may the mu'takif go outside to perform wudu, despite being able to perform wudu in the mosque in some vessel in such a way that no soiling (talwith) of the mosque results, or not?
Answer
(1) If the muezzin climbs the minaret of the mosque and gives the adhan, and its door is outside the mosque, the i'tikaf is not invalidated by this; so it is in al-Bada'i' (vol. 2, p. 115), Radd al-Muhtar (vol. 2, p. 181), al-Bahr (vol. 2, p. 303) and al-Fath (vol. 1, p. 111).
