The Ghusl of Janaba After True Dawn

Question

A man has intercourse and goes to sleep; at suhur he wakes up, washes his hands, rinses his mouth, gargles and the like, then eats, then goes back to sleep, and on waking in the morning he bathes (performs ghusl). Is the fast valid in this case or not? And until when does the time for bathing last — that is, at what time is it better (afdal) to bathe? Is this the same for a woman and a man, or is there some difference, since she cooks the food and so on?

Answer

His fast in this case is valid; there is no defect. Both should bathe before the Fajr prayer and not let the prayer lapse (into qada).
