Fasting by One Who Offers the Sacrifice

Question

Is it right for one who offers the sacrifice to fast, or not?

Answer

Fasting on the day of sacrifice is haram. However, the sunna is that on the 10th of Eid al-Adha one should neither eat nor drink anything before the sacrifice, and should begin eating with the meat of the sacrificial animal.
