Sensing a Taste When Belching While Fasting

Question

Zayd keeps the fast, but he gets belching (from wind). If he holds it back, his stomach swells and he begins to suffer; if he lets out the belch, the taste of whatever he has eaten comes up from inside. Will his fast hold if he lets out the belch, or not?

Answer

Belching does not invalidate the fast, even if a taste comes with it.
