The time of Ishraq

Question

Sunrise is at 4:18, and a person begins the Ishraq prayer at 4:25. Is [his prayer] then not valid? What is the minimum one should wait?

Answer

In that short time the sun's rays do not yet become clear; rather, it is still a disliked (makruh) time. After twenty minutes the disliked time has completely passed.
