The time of Isha and Tarawih
Question
According to the sahur and iftar timetable, on 20 Ramadan al-Mubarak iftar in Rewari was at 6:29. Because of a shabina (completing the recitation of the Qur’an in one night), the adhan for Isha was given at 7:30, and 5 minutes later, that is at 7:35, the congregation was held. Were the adhan and the congregation valid or not? If not, was the fard discharged or not? Was the Tarawih valid or not? And what is the ruling regarding the Qur’an that was recited in it?
Answer
The time of Isha begins after the time of Maghrib, and the time of Maghrib lasts until the setting of the shafaq (evening twilight). There are two views on the interpretation of shafaq. The first is that it means the redness; in “Maraqi al-Falah” (p. 59) this is called the view on which fatwa is given (mufta bihi)
