How long to wait after the Maghrib adhan

Question

How much delay of the prayer after the Maghrib adhan is appropriate? In some places they hurry a great deal.

Answer

One should pause long enough for the mu'adhdhin, having finished the adhan, to reach the row, and for the supplication after the adhan to be completed. When the mu'adhdhin is present, it is better that he himself say the iqama (takbir) or give permission to someone else.
