Supplicating after the Prayer in the Same Posture
Question
If a person, having prayed with the congregation, moves away from that place after the salam and sits [elsewhere], what harm is there in this? What is the ruling in the hadiths? Is there reward (thawab) in remaining seated in the same place, or is there some harm in moving away from that place?
Answer
There is no harm in moving away from that place; rather, it is permissible — so it is in “al-Kabiri” and other books. However, after the Fajr prayer, some narrations mention sitting in the same posture and reciting a certain supplication.
