Standing up after sajda al-sahw

Question

A person in a fard prayer, after performing sajda al-sahw, did not sit and recite al-Tahiyyat but mistakenly stood straight up. Now, while in the qiyam, he remembered that he was supposed to sit, recite al-Tahiyyat, the salawat and the du‘a, and then give the salam. What should he do in this situation? Or, if he gives the salam while still in the qiyam, will the prayer be [valid] or not? And what if he does not recite al-Tahiyyat, the salawat and the du‘a, but simply gives the salam as soon as he has stood up?

Answer

He should sit, recite al-Tahiyyat, then perform sajda al-sahw again and complete the prayer: [ar]السجدة المتقدمة لا ترفع النقصان المتأخر[/ar] “A prostration that came earlier does not remove a deficiency that comes later.”
