How to perform missed (qada’) prayers

Question

A person owes outstanding fard prayers to be made up (qada’): prayers of roughly twelve years were missed by him. Now he wants to perform them, but he does not remember the day, the date or the month. How should he make the niyya for these remaining prayers, and what niyya should he make for performing them (ada’)?

Answer

He should make the niyya thus: “I am performing the very first Zuhr prayer that became fard upon me and that I did not perform,” — or he should make the niyya thus: “I am performing the very last Zuhr prayer that became fard upon me and that I did not perform.” He should make the niyya for all the prayers in the same way; and he should make up (qada’)
