Tada‘i (calling people together) in nafl prayers

Question

If in a congregation of nafl prayers there are at the start three people and one imam, and then more people come and join, is this correct or not?

Answer

If the muqtadis are three people and the imam is one, the congregation of nafl prayers is correct; those who came later and joined have committed a makruh. [ar]إن اقتدى به ثلاثة لا يكون تداعيًا فلا يكره اتفاقًا، وإن اقتدى به أربعة فالأصح الكراهة[/ar] “If three follow him, it is not tada‘i (calling people together)
