Following the imam through a tape recording

Question

The imam recites the recitation of the obligatory (fard) prayer into a loudspeaker. If the recitation is taped and then the tape recording of the imam is played, will the congregational prayer be performed or not?

Answer

It will not be performed at all. The tape recorder should be removed. The imam should himself recite with his own tongue; then the prayer will be performed. To content oneself with a tape recorder in the prayer is wrong.
