Using a loudspeaker for Friday and the two Eids

Question

Is it permissible to use a loudspeaker to convey the voice of the sermon (khutba) and of the prayer of Friday and of the two Eids to the followers? If it is permissible, what is the proof of its permissibility?

Answer

In the prayers it is preferable and better (awla and afdal) to refrain from the loudspeaker device (mukabbir al-sawt). If somewhere, because of the large size of the congregation, there is a need for the transitional takbirs and the aim is to carry the sound of the takbirs far, then mukabbirs should be arranged.
